DeathDay is developed and operated by Zane Industries LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the DeathDay iOS application ("App").
By using DeathDay, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information you provide directly:
Health data (optional, with your permission):
Usage data:
Personal data entered into DeathDay is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage. We do not operate servers that store your lifestyle questionnaire answers or your Apple Health data. The one exception is email: if you choose to receive your mortality report, your email address and your estimated departure date are transmitted to our email service provider so that we can send it to you.
Subscription state is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not store payment information.
With your permission, DeathDay reads five categories of data from Apple Health: steps, sleep, resting heart rate, blood pressure, and active energy burned. This data is used only to refine your DeathDay estimate automatically, without you having to log it manually. DeathDay never writes to Apple Health. Data read from Apple Health is used only on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. If you opt in to receive your mortality report by email, that report includes your estimated departure date — a figure derived in part from this data — which is transmitted to our email provider for delivery.
If you provide your email address to receive your mortality report, we'll use it to deliver that report and to send ongoing marketing and promotional communications about DeathDay. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
DeathDay uses Apple's StoreKit for subscription management and in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy governs data processed through StoreKit. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks.
If you provide your email address, we use Kit (ConvertKit) to store it and to deliver email to you. Kit's privacy policy governs data processed through their service. DeathDay may also link to third-party websites and services, and we may earn a commission from purchases made through those links; no health or personal data is transmitted when you tap such a link.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not share your health data with anyone, ever.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
DeathDay is not intended for users under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all data at any time by using the "Reset all data" option in the app's Settings tab, or by deleting the app entirely from your device. This permanently removes all information DeathDay has collected.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
